THE ADVANTAGES OF IML

In-Mould-Labelling known short as IML or InMould is a method to decorate plastics, resulting in the most efficient and effective for plastic packaging producers, as it can be used in a wide range of sectors: food, automotive, warehouse, medical and industrial.

This Technology is different from a traditional decorating process like Digital Printing, Flexography, Letterpress, Offset, etc., that involves an additional process or steps in the production chain.

The IML production system consists of placing a pre-printed polypropylene (PP) label into the mold at the same time that the raw material is being injected, resulting in the generation of the finished article during a single step manufacturing process. As this process is very exact, is carried out by high-speed and precision robots specially designed for this purpose.

The application of Inmold technology to your packaging has several advantages over conventional decoration techniques:

• Elimination of the post-production process of decorating and therefore its time and cost.
• High-quality image.
• Outstanding durability.
• Wide range of design and graphic options.
• Environment-friendly product generation: package and label compatibility facilitates recycling. 
• As the finished article is then removed from the mold by a high-speed robot the hygiene of the product is maintained.
